Nexus Print Ad

I have cancelled my original 1/8 page block advertisement for Roswell Rising in Nexus magazine, see background link for details. The ad has been very useful and has contributed to a significant rise in sales, not just of Rising, but of all three books in the trilogy. I have not worked it out precisely, but I estimate that I have comfortably profited over what the ad cost me. Now, after almost a year and a half, the boost it provided has declined so I have decided to end that campaign. My guess is that most people who purchased the book as a result of that ad are regular Nexus readers; and so now they've done it, the remaining new and infrequent readers, who are smaller in number, will be the only ones buying the book off that it. This is why it's not worth me keeping the block ad going. However, I have started a second advertisement campaign, also in Nexus. For a far cheaper fee, I have placed an entry in the printed advertisement column, wittily dubbed "the De-Classifieds". It reads: "'ROSWELL RISING: A Novel of Disclosure' by Ben Emlyn-Jones. What would happen if we were given UFO truth instead of UFO lies? http://hpanwo-bb.blogspot.com/2016/08/roswell-rising-is-here.html". At 45p per word you can work out how cheap that is. It will appear in both the digital and print edition of Nexus too, starting with Vol. 26-6, October-November 2019, see: https://nexusmagazine.com/?v=79cba1185463. What's more, unlike the old block ad, this new one will appear in the two other foreign English language editions of the magazine; Australia, where Nexus is based, and the United States of America. This constitutes my first international advertising project (if you don't include a friend of mine selling it on their stall at the International UFO Congress in Arizona USA). We will soon see if it works, but following the success of my old ad, I am very hopeful.
